I have a 2 in 1 based on that CPU (the Z3735f), and trust me it has enough power to run full blown Ubuntu. That isn't the problem. The problem is price (the cheapest mini PC I was able to find was 125 bucks, and dev boards cost more because they have more connectors and other stuff). Also, I'm quite excited for AMD's Mullins (it's gonna be quite expensive) and Intel's SOFia chipset which is similar to Baytrail but has better graphics. x86 seems interesting but ti's simply too expensive for anything hobbyist unless ofc you're ready to throw around 150 bucks.
I am a little bothered with the SATA plug of the normal Orange Pi. The connection is too sensible, no lock, so the system installed on SSD freeze.I think I would have to solder it, not easy.
I propose for the future models a lock for the SATA plug, like all good mother boards.
Probably not every web-site in internet has the info but finally AllWinner posted info on their web site about so long awaited chip--AllWinner A64.
So looks like chip is really worth it--it got 4 A53 64bit cores.
But what was interesting to know for me--what is responsible for GPU? I was thinking--why AllWinner was hiding info when annouced A64 in January about GPU?
Now I know for sure why--because it will be Mali 400MP2.
But I was just wondering--since A64 cost very low--promised like 5$ price for it--do you think it is worth it to try to use it in next Orange Pi boards?
Even though it is 64bit--it can execute 32bit code--so it means that legacy apps ond OSs will run on it.
I wish AllWinner would publish on time specs of its CPUs--because looks like ...

Steven sounds awesome. But I cant find on AllWinner web-site any info about H64, like which specs it has--probably the same as A64 has or similar. I wish AllWinner would publish specs of its CPUs on time--because like they release to public specimen earlier and only after time publish specs.
So as far as I understand A-serious is more targeted at tablets and H serious at Domestic devices like android boxes and dev boards and android sticks?
And what means MAC--MAC-adress for Ethernet?
