I've bought Orange Pi PC few weeks ago and I tried to make it as small web server / torrent station. ...

Debian-mini image is old, you should copy new uImage, script.bin and lib from scriptbin_kernel.tar.gz
OPI-PC has 100Mb ethernet, so the max transfer speed is ~10MB/sec

OK, thanks, I'll try that. I've used scriptbin_kernel.tar.gz from 12th october (I think that was previous version). With original only one USB port worked.

I expected transfer speed to be around 10 MB/s, and it is, for smaller files. I'll have to experiment a bit to see what's the critical size. I guess it has something to do with it being one single file that's 7.5 GB in size...

I see that ubuntu image is the newest, so I'll probably try with that. I suppose there's an option to prevent X to load so it stays at terminal.

Hi Loboris!

I`m using OPi-PC Ubuntu vivid mate and have problems with wifi-dongle on rtl8188cus chip.

lsusb detect it, but in dmesg I see that rtl8192cufw.bin not avaliable. But in lsmod that module is listed. I`ve tried to build module with firmware-realtek (and had an error) and replace rtl8192cufw.bin with another from internet.

What to do with this?

Anyone successfully building Trusty from loboris's github: https://github.com/loboris/OrangePi-BuildLinux

It looks like uboot and kernel come up but init is dying for me:
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x00000100

I want to roll my own for customizations and to make a crossbuild environment...

I tried the Vivid image (prepackaged by loboris, not built by me) and it is working fine.

When I install_to_emmc btrfs, system will not boot to GUI. Install without btrfs works. I finally noticed that failed boot was the same as when I was fighting with different sd card...changing sd card fixed boot, not using btrfs fixed emmc boot...
Latest Ubuntu Mate, (not for PC) Plus image, script.bin and lib from latest scriptbin tar (not test). lib in fat partition. Created on windows10 system.

Still no WiFi device found. /etc/modules-load.d modules.conf contains 8189es (only item in list without one or two # at start of line.

How do I get permission to change/rename script.bin etc from within GUI file viewer? (or how, exactly, do I find it from terminal? (distant second choice)).

Thanks.

I had the same issue with install_to_emmc btrfs.  I noticed that btrfs was mounted read only.  This is why the GUI won't come up.  I didn't bother to debug it though since ext4 works fine.
