in my opinion just apt-get install gqrx gnuradio or so on

That's not our purpose. Our purpose is to get the already decoded DVB-T stream as this usb keys are meant for SDR use is another story.

Ok... so we can wait if loboris can enable them in the kernel configuration...
Isn't the rtl2832x ...

I think we need these two files:
Missing file is: .../drivers/media/dvb/frontends/rtl2832u.ko

These file exist, but did not support rtl2832: ../drivers/media/dvb/dvb-usb/dvbt-usb-rtl28xxu.ko

Some one must take the source file from the newer experimental kernel 3.10 or 3.14 and compile it into our
3.4.9 Kernel.

I think it's best to forget any RTL2832U RTL_SDR/DVB stick will ever work with this (old) kernel.
Apart from the 2832 driver you will also need the correct driver for the tuner (eg. E4000 or R820T) , otherwise it still won't work.

Do these distributions support the on board Wifi on the OPi plus? If so how does one enable it?

@loboris

Excellent images! Thanks a lot!

I tied first the OrangePI_Jessie_Xfce but it was not able to work with USB ports and the Ethernet port. Seems that the image is older and not updated. Then I tried the OrangePi_PC Ubuntu Vivid Mint which is OK with USB and Ethernet but I have a problem with WiFi.

FYI - the first one was booting faster and seems to be working a bit faster also, at least  the few apps which I tried, i did not spend much time with it because my kbd was not working when my mouse was working and the vice versa - only one usb port. The second one boots noticably slower. The CPU was hot with both, both showing very low cpu consumption when idle.

Is it possible to have the images updated with latest fixes? I would prefer functional yet fast and lightweight image.

Is there a way to use and visualize the embedded thermometer?

Please, check this: http://www.orangepi.org/orangepi ... read&tid=675&extra=

here

Is there a solution to this problem already discussed here? One member suggested that the problem with realtek chips is already solved and discussed here but I cannot find it. Please post the links for me. Thank you!

Excellent images! Thanks a lot!

All images works on all boards. You just have to select the right uImage and script.bin.
You can use update_kernel.sh script (download from Mega if not included) to update the kernel and script.bin
You can update OS with package manager.
"visualize the embedded thermometer", look here
There were many posts about wifi adapters (adapters requiring firmware loading works only on Ubuntu 14.04 and Debian)

I think it's possible RTL2832 driver for orangepi. Two years ago I have been compiled driver for dvb stick on my android tablet NOOK HD+ with kernel 3.0.31 with this source.
I try with loboris kernel 3.4.39 but for now I have a few errors.

Sorry for my poor english.

Correction to my previous post....this driver DOES compile, but has limited tuner support: https://github.com/tmair/DVB-Rea ... er-mod_kernel-3.0.0

compiled version for the OPI: https://github.com/lymon66/ORANG ... tl2832u.ko?raw=true

if your DVB stick has a R820T tuner (common tuner in cheap RTL-SDR sticks) , you are currently out of luck.
