Let’s go over it one more time for people like me who don’t really get it. Proxy or VPN after all? I’m not a specialist, I don’t need it for work, more like just to watch movies, videos, use the whole internet, not just the allowed part. So basically, for personal use, what’s better for me?
If you were a specialist, like doing web scraping or needing multi-accounting and stuff like that, then I’d recommend a proxy. Otherwise, for personal use, a VPN is the way to go. Honestly, a VPN is safer than a proxy. I get that not everyone thinks about online security, but still, VPN isn’t called a virtual private network for nothing, it actually can protect you online, and your provider won’t see your online activity at the very least. For me it’s also more convenient, because I just turn on the VPN in the app, and everything on my phone or laptop works through it. Proxies often conflict with VPNs if you have both, you have to set them up separately for each app, and even then it’s not guaranteed to work. |
