The FMS announcement left out the die capacity. Kioxia had already published it three weeks earlier at ISSCC: 2 Tb, 332 word lines, 37.6 Gb/mm².

That resolves the arithmetic. A 983.04 TB drive — the next rung on the enterprise ladder — is exactly 4,096 dies. 128 packages of 32, or 64 of 64, or 32 of 128.

The flash exists. What's unproven is everything between the die and the drive.
