Has anyone actually managed to spark real interest from complete strangers on social media for a cause they're passionate about? Last summer I tried pushing this small local animal rescue thing – posted a few heartfelt stories about the dogs we'd taken in, some photos, even a quick video of one pup finally wagging its tail after weeks of being scared. Got a handful of likes from mates, but strangers? Barely a peep. Felt a bit deflating, to be honest, like shouting into the wind. Wondering what actually cuts through the noise – emotional appeals, challenges, regular posting, or something else entirely? What worked for you, and what just fell flat?

@Granny Game In my opinion, emotion is a necessary but not sufficient condition; what truly "cuts through the noise" is that the story must show strangers where they relate – if you only tell them how heartbroken you are, they'll sympathize a little and move on, but if you show them how their small actions create real change, then they will stop and read.
