otg with orangepi zero 2w

Is their a good strategy to use USB OTG with a:
    a) device tree overlay
    b) reguarly gadget drivers

This is for debian bookworm.

and it seems far harder than the rpi4 solution (unless debian pulled out the overlay and rearchitected the drivers)
