OrangePi 4G-IOT making new image

Edited by mrz.to at 2018-9-18 16:00

On the forum someone wrote that the available image does not allow the data connection, so I downloaded the sources instead.
Not so easy, 5GB at a time.
Then I tried to compile: as suggested in user manual, I used an host with Ubuntu OS... it was 18.04, though.

No way :@
Many required libraries are no more supported, and finding them in older repository is a long work ... and with an uncertain outcome.

Has anyone succeeded?
Thanks for your suggestions

If you are talking about the ADB mode, then you could follow the steps as follow:
1. Computer system: wind7, wind8 and win xp
2. install the Driver
3. remove the jumper
4. plug the micro usb

files we have at hand for OPI 4G-IOT have been uploaded to our website, you could check it.

Already tried, but it did not work
maybe thanks to you now I know why
you wrote: "remove the jumper"

I have not removed any jumper and this is the problem
This week I'm off-site ... next one I'll try again

PS It could also be useful for other forum members to take a look at this page: https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Orange_Pi_4G-IoT ... try also "board review" on the bottom

[*]Remove jumper J5. This will disable the USB hub on the board and enable you to connect the board to the host PC via USB. If you don't do this, USB errors will appear in dmesg.
[*]Start the MediaTek Smartphone Flash Tool (SPFT) as root.
[*]Select the scatter file and the partitions you want to flash.
[*]Click "Download".
[*]Plug the board into your computer via its micro-USB port.
[*]Wait for flashing to complete.
[*]If that fails, repeat steps 4-6 until it works.

It is on the time schedule, time is needed. We have LCD screens for this item, maybe you could have a try.
